So much to say.

It is the end of an era. Spirit airlines was efficient, quirky, reliable and the best value in the sky. I will forever chase the high of getting tickets for less than 30$ round trip. Nothing will compare to bidding 18$ to get upgraded to their Big Front Seats where we’d eat and drink like kings.

My pitch to save them was to become the leader in dog-friendly aviation.

I encouraged them to develop a membership service where in dogs could apply to get their wings. After a monetary application fee and uploading documentation of vaccine records along with proof of completion of canine goood citizen, a dog would attain membership good for 1 year and receive merch: a yellow bandanna that says, “this dog’s got spirit” and maybe a yellow collar tag with a dog with wings. Logistically, the number of dogs on board would be limited and their placement would be preassigned for spacing and safety.

Moving forward, let’s support Spirit 2.0 which hopes to become the first airline owned “by the people” I have pledged my support and I hope you go too. I also hope their board considers the lucrative idea to corner the market on being the dog friendly airline.

I encourage them to lean into being unique and progressive catering to millennials and Gen Z who are choosing dogs over kids.

Spirit 2.0 should be dog-friendly
